What Is BEAUTY&YOU India?
Launched in 2022, BEAUTY&YOU India is a programme supporting entrepreneurs building businesses connected to India’s beauty industry.
Its support includes funding, mentorship, access to industry expertise, distribution assistance and opportunities to develop business relationships.
For the 2026 edition, organisers shortlisted 14 finalists across four award categories. The Visionary Women’s Award was presented as an additional honour in partnership with Startup India, an initiative of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.
The programme’s finalist announcement outlined a total prize pool of up to $500,000. The winners’ announcement did not specify the amount allocated to each recipient.
Laani: Building Body Care Around Indian Conditions
Laani, founded by Nirja Bhatt, won the GROW award.
The brand focuses on body care suited to India’s heat, humidity and consumers’ daily routines. Its range includes clear deodorant sticks and body washes.
In her account of the company’s origins, Bhatt says she struggled to find suitable personal-care products after returning to India following eight years in the United States. She describes dissatisfaction with products that felt sticky, greasy or inconvenient.
Laani developed from that experience. The brand says it designs its formulations for Indian women and aims to bring the attention associated with facial skincare to everyday body care.
Its business proposition centres on a familiar purchase with specific expectations: a product that feels comfortable, fits into a routine and performs in local conditions. Those details can influence whether someone tries a product once or continues buying it.
Boldpurity: Developing Skincare Through Formulation Research
Boldpurity received the IMAGINE award for its skincare concept and formulation technologies.
The company is led by Khatija Shabana, co-founder and CEO, and Syed Mohammad Fouzan, founder and director. Shabana leads formulation and scientific development, while Fouzan oversees business, manufacturing and operations.
Boldpurity says its research began in 2023, followed by its launch in 2026. Its account describes building laboratory and manufacturing capabilities to develop and test its own formulas.
The brand’s published range includes AquaBlur, CellMorph and SkinReset. Its work focuses on how formulations are constructed and how ingredients are delivered within those systems.
This approach places product development at the centre of the business. It also means that testing, manufacturing consistency and clear explanations of product performance are central to how the brand earns customer confidence.
The award recognises the company’s concept and innovation potential. Individual product claims remain matters for the evidence supporting those products.
Goyam Green Tech: Bringing Green Chemistry to Fragrance
Goyam Green Tech won the BREAKTHROUGH award, which focused on fragrance innovation in 2026.
The category was presented by The Estée Lauder Companies’ Fragrance Atelier in Paris. The award announcement named Ajaykumar Mehta, Shriya Rambhia and Dheer Rambhia as the company’s directors.
Goyam describes its work as developing speciality chemicals using renewable, biobased raw materials, including essential oils and other plant-derived inputs.
Its intended applications include fragrance ingredients, solvents and speciality chemicals. The company’s stated goal is to reduce dependence on fossil-derived materials through changes in chemistry and manufacturing processes.
According to its published timeline, Goyam established a small laboratory in 2024 and began pilot production and customer trials in 2025.
Its recognition brings attention to the suppliers behind beauty products. Fragrance innovation can begin with how an ingredient is produced, long before a finished perfume or personal-care product reaches a shop.
De Icebreaker Creative Studio Wins the New DESIGN Award
The DESIGN category was introduced for the 2026 programme, recognising creative work connected to packaging, retail and consumer experiences.
The winner, De Icebreaker Creative Studio, is led by founder and creative director Pankti Sheth.
The studio works across brand strategy, visual identity, illustration and packaging. Its published portfolio includes projects in several consumer categories, showing how design services can support different kinds of businesses.
For a beauty brand, packaging has practical and commercial roles. It communicates what a product is, helps distinguish it on a shelf or screen, and shapes the experience of using it.
The category also recognises creative talent with the potential to collaborate with a brand from The Estée Lauder Companies.
Agapi Sikkim Recognised for Women’s Entrepreneurship
Rinzing Choden Bhutia, founder of Agapi Sikkim, received the Visionary Women’s Award.
Agapi is a skincare and lifestyle business whose identity draws on Sikkim and its Himalayan surroundings. Its product range includes cleansers, soaps, oils, creams and other personal-care items.
The brand’s own account traces its development to Bhutia’s return to manage her family homestay in Kabi, Sikkim, after a career in sales and marketing.
It describes employment and training for local women as part of its business model. The award recognises that connection between entrepreneurship and women’s economic participation.
Agapi’s story also shows how a regional business can build its identity around local knowledge and community relationships while seeking a wider customer base.
Why These Winners Matter for Indian Beauty Businesses
The BEAUTY&YOU India 2026 results offer a useful view of the different opportunities within the sector.
Laani addresses everyday body-care needs. Boldpurity concentrates on formulation development. Goyam works on ingredients and manufacturing processes. De Icebreaker supplies design expertise, while Agapi connects products with a regional identity and livelihood opportunities.
Commercially, these businesses have different paths to growth. Consumer brands need repeat purchases and dependable distribution. Ingredient businesses need to meet buyers’ technical requirements and supply consistently. Design studios need successful projects and lasting client relationships.
The programme can provide introductions, advice and financial support along those paths. What follows will depend on how each winner turns that support into products, partnerships and continuing customer demand.
