MyWonder Builds Screen-Free AI Learning Tools to Make Learning Fun for Kids

5 Min Read

Founded by Chandramouli K and Venkat Potluri, the Bengaluru startup combines a talking device, physical cards and a parent app to bring stories, games and conversations into children’s playtime.

MyWonder is developing screen-free AI learning tools that let children explore stories, ask questions and play games through voice and sound. Its product combines a portable audio device with physical cards that activate different characters and activities.

Founded in 2024, the Bengaluru startup publicly emerged from stealth in October 2025. The company markets its device for children aged three to ten, with an emphasis on curiosity, imagination and learning through play.

The approach puts conversation at the centre of the experience. Children can speak to a character, answer a question or make choices during an adventure, while parents manage the system through a companion app.

The Parents Behind the Startup

The idea grew out of the founders’ experiences as parents. They wanted ways to keep their children engaged and respond to their questions without making a phone or tablet central to playtime.

According to Antler’s account of the business, Chandramouli brought experience from Amazon Kindle, RedBus and SuperRep.AI. Venkat’s background included Flipkart, Think9 and ZestMoney.

The product took shape during the Antler India Residency. Antler says the team spoke with more than 300 parents while developing its approach.

Those conversations helped frame a practical problem: families wanted activities that children could explore independently, alongside ways for adults to stay involved. MyWonder’s combination of a physical device and parent controls reflects that aim.

How MyWonder’s Screen-Free Learning System Works

The system centres on the MyWonder Pod and a collection of cards. Tapping a card on the device activates its associated content, which can include a character, story, game or listening activity.

The company’s starter pack lists the Pod, eight companion cards, two “Make Your Own” cards, a lanyard and a charging cable.

This gives children a physical way to choose what they want to do. A card can become the starting point for a conversation about space, a number game or an imaginative story.

The company lists Wi-Fi connectivity and support for English and Hindi. It describes additional Indian languages as forthcoming.

Stories, Quizzes and Activities for Children

MyWonder’s published catalogue covers several kinds of play and learning.

Character or activityWhat it offers
Aru the NaturalistConversations about nature
Astro the Space ExplorerQuestions and exploration about space
Math BattleNumber challenges tailored to a child’s age
Make Your Own AdventureStories in which children choose different paths
Move and GrooveMusic and spoken instructions for movement

The broader catalogue also includes riddles, vocabulary games and audio content covering science and language skills.

These activities give the product several roles within a household. A child might listen to a story during quiet time, take part in a quiz or follow movement instructions with family members.

The variety also gives parents different starting points for shared play, depending on a child’s interests.

Where Artificial Intelligence Fits In

MyWonder says it uses conversational AI and voice recognition to respond to children and personalise interactions over time.

Its published description emphasises adapting experiences to a child’s age and learning level. That is the company’s intended approach to personalisation; the product information does not establish measured improvements in school performance.

The system also offers curated audio content. Its experience therefore brings together responsive conversations and material prepared for listening.

For the product to work well, both elements matter. Conversations need clear, relevant responses, while stories and games need enough variety to remain interesting as children return to them.

What Parents Can Manage Through the App

The companion app gives adults a separate place to set up and manage the device.

According to its developer description, parents can create a child’s profile, choose available stories and characters, manage topics and usage times, and review activity information.

The app also supports personalised audio. Parents can record or upload content and connect it to “Make Your Own” cards. Examples include a family story, a familiar rhyme or a message from a grandparent.

This feature extends the device beyond its supplied catalogue. It allows a household’s own voices and stories to become part of the listening experience.

The screen-free description refers to children’s learning and play activities. Parents still use a phone app for setup and controls.

How the Company Describes Content and Data Controls

MyWonder says its content is selected for children and that the device does not provide internet browsing or play third-party advertisements.

Its privacy policy describes collecting profile information and data from voice conversations to operate and personalise the service. It says parents can review and delete information through the app.

The policy also states that conversation text is retained for 90 days or until deletion, and that service providers may support functions such as speech-to-text and cloud storage.

These details are part of how the connected product operates. Screen-free interaction still involves software, connectivity and data processing.

Antler Backing and Google Accelerator Selection

Antler publicly announced its backing of MyWonder in October 2025. A November 2025 YourStory profile reported that the startup had raised $300,000 in pre-seed funding from Antler India.

MyWonder was also among the 20 startups selected for the 2025 Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First programme in India.

Google announced that cohort in September 2025. The programme offered support including technical mentorship, access to AI tools and guidance on bringing products to market.

For MyWonder, these relationships provided early support for a business combining hardware, software and educational content.

What Will Matter as MyWonder Grows

MyWonder’s commercial challenge is to make the device useful beyond the excitement of a first conversation with a talking character.

That will depend on several practical factors: dependable voice interactions, content children want to revisit, straightforward controls and continued product support.

Learning outcomes are another question. Evidence showing what children understand or practise through repeated use would provide a stronger basis for assessing educational value.

The startup’s opportunity is to make spoken interaction and physical play a useful part of everyday learning. Its progress will depend on how consistently the product delivers that experience for families.
