RapidCanvas Raises $29 Million to Take Enterprise AI From Strategy to Execution

5 Min Read
Updated on October 18, 2026

The Series B round will support product development and team expansion as the company combines AI software with engineers who build and manage applications for businesses.

RapidCanvas has raised $29 million in Series B funding to expand its enterprise AI business, which helps companies turn proposed AI projects into applications used in daily operations.

Announced on 16 October 2026, the round was led by Vertex Ventures SEA & India, with participation from Hitachi Ventures. Existing investors Accel, Peak XV Partners, Valley Capital Partners and Titanium Ventures also participated.

The financing brings the Austin-based company’s total funding to $52.5 million. It will support further investment in its platform, customer acquisition and engineering teams, including operations in India.

What RapidCanvas Does

RapidCanvas combines an AI platform with specialists who help businesses design, develop and operate customised applications.

The company calls this its Hybrid Approach. Engineers work with a customer’s business processes and data, while software and AI agents support the development and execution of workflows.

The work extends beyond building an initial demonstration. Its platform is designed to connect applications to existing business systems, deploy them and monitor their operation.

For a customer, the intended benefit is access to both the tools and the expertise needed to put AI into use. The company’s role includes supporting applications after deployment, when operational requirements and business information can change.

The Technology Behind the RapidCanvas Platform

The funding announcement identifies three main products:

ProductIntended role
Enterprise Context EngineOrganises business knowledge, definitions, data relationships and decision rules
Visual Development CanvasHelps engineers build applications using structured workflows and reusable software capabilities
Operational HarnessSupports the management, monitoring and governance of applications after deployment

The Context Engine addresses a practical issue: business information is not useful merely because a system can access it. An application also needs to understand what that information means.

For example, different teams may use a term such as “revenue” differently. A useful application needs the organisation’s agreed definition, the relevant records and the rules governing how the figure is calculated.

RapidCanvas says its Context Engine captures this knowledge and allows customer teams to review and refine it. The company also states that each enterprise’s business definitions and decision logic remain separate from those of other customers.

How AI Could Support a Finance Workflow

Invoice matching provides a concrete example of the applications RapidCanvas describes.

Its published solution uses information such as vendor identities, contract terms and payment histories to recommend matches between financial records. It also identifies unusual items, including duplicate invoices, mismatched amounts or non-standard payment terms.

According to the company, these exceptions can be flagged for human review with an explanation of the recommendation.

That makes the workflow more specific than a general-purpose chatbot answering a question. It connects information from business systems to an operational task, with a route for employees to review cases requiring judgment.

The usefulness of such a system depends on the quality of its inputs, its integration with existing records and the reliability of its recommendations.

How the $29 Million Will Be Used

RapidCanvas plans to expand its sales and customer-development teams and deepen relationships with private equity firms and advisory businesses.

These partners can introduce its services to portfolio companies and clients that need help implementing AI.

The company also plans to hire more field AI engineers across India, the United States and Brazil. Product spending will cover the Context Engine, the reusable skills library behind its development tools and stronger operational governance.

The strategy combines customer expansion with investment in delivery capacity. For a business that supplies both software and engineering support, the ability to serve additional customers depends on both parts developing together.

India’s Role in the Expansion

India is part of RapidCanvas’s international engineering and delivery footprint.

The company lists offices in Austin, Hyderabad and São José dos Campos in Brazil. PTI reported that a majority of its employees are based in India.

The latest funding announcement includes further expansion of the engineering team in the country. It does not specify how many additional employees will be hired in each location.

For the Indian technology sector, the relevance is the company’s use of local engineering expertise to develop and support AI applications for enterprise customers.

The Founders Behind RapidCanvas

RapidCanvas was founded in 2021 by Rahul Pangam and Uttam Phalnikar. Pangam serves as chief executive officer, while Phalnikar is chief technology officer.

The founders previously built Simility, a machine-learning-based risk management company acquired by PayPal. That experience gave them a background in applying AI to business decisions with operational consequences.

RapidCanvas emerged from stealth in March 2024, announcing $7.5 million in seed funding led by Accel with participation from Valley Capital Partners.

A $16 million Series A, announced in December 2024, was led by Peak XV Partners. The latest Series B adds capital for the next stage of product and commercial expansion.

What RapidCanvas Says About Its Growth

The company reports that its annual recurring revenue increased eightfold over the past six quarters.

It also says that more than 40% of customers now operate multiple AI use cases in production. According to its announcement, more than 75 enterprises made 1.4 million AI-led decisions using applications built on its platform during 2026 so far.

These are company-reported indicators. The announcement does not provide an absolute annual recurring revenue figure or an independent assessment of the operational metrics.

The multiple-use-case figure is relevant to its business model: a customer that adopts additional applications creates an opportunity to expand an existing relationship.

A Subscription Model for Custom AI Work

RapidCanvas targets enterprises with annual revenue between $100 million and $10 billion, according to its funding announcement.

Its published commercial offering describes a fixed monthly subscription model that combines platform access with expert development, training and ongoing support.

The company also states that customers own the intellectual property of their solutions. Specific project scope and commercial commitments would depend on the engagement.

From a business perspective, the proposition is to make customised AI delivery more predictable for customers. For RapidCanvas, the challenge is to reuse software and technical knowledge while still addressing the requirements of each organisation.

Why Governance Matters After Deployment

Once an application becomes part of daily work, customers need to know who can access it, what has changed and whether it is operating as expected.

RapidCanvas’s published capabilities include access controls, application audit records, version tracking and service monitoring. These features are designed to help teams investigate problems and oversee deployed systems.

Such controls support the operating process; their presence alone does not establish that every AI output will be correct.

The next commercial test will be whether the company can turn more initial deployments into sustained use across customer organisations while maintaining reliable delivery and support.
