Jio AI Classroom offers a free, four-week foundation course designed to help students, teachers and other beginners understand artificial intelligence and apply it to everyday tasks.
Jio introduced the programme at India Mobile Congress on 8 October 2025. Its current course page continues to list registration as open, allowing learners to begin and study at their own pace.
The programme combines introductory concepts with practical work in learning, creativity, communication and project development. It gives learners a structured way to move from experimenting with AI tools to using them for a defined purpose.
What Does Jio AI Classroom Offer?
The course was developed by Jio Institute and is powered by JioPC. It introduces AI through short video lessons, practical exercises and quizzes.
Jio Institute describes the learning format as flexible and self-paced. The four-week structure provides a sequence of topics, while participants can organise study around their existing commitments.
That flexibility could be useful for a student balancing schoolwork, a teacher exploring classroom applications or an adult approaching the subject for the first time.
The programme’s practical emphasis also gives learners something to work towards. Completing an assignment requires them to decide what they want to produce, try an approach and assess whether the result meets that purpose.
What the Four-Week Course Covers
The published curriculum progresses from basic concepts to an applied project.
| Week | Focus | Main activities |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | AI basics and prompting | Understand generative AI and practise writing clearer instructions |
| Week 2 | Learning and creativity | Explore research, summaries, brainstorming and creative outputs |
| Week 3 | Building and communication | Work on websites, presentations and written or visual content |
| Week 4 | Applied AI project | Combine the learning in a project addressing a practical problem |
Jio lists tools including ChatGPT, Gemini, NotebookLM, Adobe Express, Suno and ElevenLabs among the platforms learners may encounter.
The course also addresses originality, copyright and responsible sharing. These subjects matter when learners turn generated material into schoolwork, presentations or public content.
The educational value will depend partly on what participants do with the exercises: checking an answer, improving an unclear prompt and explaining their own decisions are useful parts of the learning process.
Who Can Join the Course?
Jio presents the programme as suitable for students, teachers, parents and people curious about AI.
There is an important condition for younger participants. Under the registration terms, learners under 18 must access the course through arrangements made available by a parent or legal guardian, who accepts the relevant terms.
The course’s beginner focus makes it a starting point for exploring practical applications. A teacher might use the experience to assess how AI could support preparation, while a student could explore ways to organise study material. These are potential uses, rather than guaranteed improvements in teaching or academic results.
Completion Acknowledgement and Jio Institute Certificate
The registration terms distinguish between the general completion acknowledgement and the additional benefits associated with JioPC.
| Learning route | Stated completion benefit |
|---|---|
| General course access | Email acknowledgement after completing the course |
| Valid JioPC subscription with course access through the JioPC app | Jio Institute certificate, an extended learning period and additional resources |
Progress through the course depends on completing the required assessments, quizzes or assignments. Simply registering does not establish that someone has completed the programme.
The platform’s general terms also state that participation does not automatically confer academic credit. Learners should understand the certificate as recognition of course completion, with any formal academic recognition requiring a separate, explicit arrangement.
What Devices Are Needed, and Is Everything Free?
The foundation course is advertised as free, and its registration terms state that no registration fee is required.
Access is designed around a laptop, desktop computer or JioPC. The course page does not present a smartphone as a supported learning device.
JioPC is a separate cloud-computing subscription service. Its current product information describes access through a browser on an existing computer, or through a compatible television setup using a Jio Set Top Box, keyboard and mouse.
An active JioPC subscription is listed among the service requirements. Internet access and any equipment needed to use the service are also separate from the course registration.
Learning in 12 Languages
The course lists English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Odia, Assamese and Punjabi.
Language choice can make introductory concepts easier to follow, especially when unfamiliar technical terms are being introduced.
How to Register for Jio AI Classroom
Learners can find the AI Classroom section on Jio’s official website and select Register for FREE. After following the registration prompts, they can use the course access instructions to begin learning.
The current page also provides a Begin Course option and says participants can start at their own pace, including if they join later.
Before beginning, learners should confirm their device access, choose the appropriate registration arrangement and understand the completion benefit associated with their learning route.
Evidence of Participation in Schools
Reliance’s 2025–26 corporate social responsibility report records 2,913 registrations for the AI Classroom Foundation Course across Reliance Foundation Schools: 2,383 students and 530 teachers.
The report states that 77% of the participating teachers had completed the course at the reporting point. These figures relate to that school network, rather than national enrolment.
This provides a concrete example of the programme’s use in education. The longer-term question is how participants apply what they learn: preparing clearer materials, evaluating generated content and completing useful projects with an understanding of AI’s limitations.
For students and teachers exploring the subject, the course offers a structured introduction. Its practical value will come from the work learners complete and the judgement they develop while using the tools.
