Former Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka’s Hang Ten Systems Reaches $85 Million in Funding

5 Min Read

The enterprise AI venture launched with a $32 million seed round in June 2026 and announced another $53 million in September to expand its engineering and customer delivery capabilities.

Information checked: 13 October 2026

Hang Ten Systems, the enterprise AI services company led by former Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka, has raised $85 million across two seed rounds. The total includes the $32 million launch funding announced on 24 June 2026 and an additional $53 million announced on 16 September 2026.

Mayfield led the first round, while the second was led by Xora, a Temasek-backed fund. Mayfield and Aramco Ventures also participated in the additional financing.

The company’s focus is practical: helping large organisations use AI to build, modernise and operate the software behind their businesses.

Hang Ten Systems Funding: From $32 Million to $85 Million

The initial funding announcement introduced Hang Ten as a services business built around enterprise AI adoption. The subsequent financing expanded the resources available for customer projects and development of its own technology.

The September announcement also identified Lip-Bu Tan, Sanjay Mehrotra and Jerry Yang among the company’s investors. Yang, the Yahoo co-founder, is also a member of Hang Ten’s board.

The $85 million figure represents capital raised. It is not a disclosed company valuation or a measure of revenue.

What Hang Ten Systems Is Building

Hang Ten offers AI advisory, software development and enterprise transformation services. Its stated areas of work include finance, human resources, business applications and software modernisation.

The company combines AI coding tools, reusable technical capabilities and engineers with experience in enterprise systems. Its aim is to develop software around the way a customer’s business operates and continue improving it as requirements change.

Mayfield’s Navin Chaddha has described the opportunity as a change in how enterprise software is built and maintained. His investment rationale centres on using AI to reduce the work involved in adapting software to a company’s specific requirements.

For customers, the relevant outcome is a working business system that can be maintained and changed over time.

Why Enterprise AI Implementation Is Difficult

In explaining Xora’s investment, managing partner Phil Inagaki highlighted the complexity of existing corporate technology.

Large organisations often have interconnected applications, older systems, proprietary data and business processes developed over many years. Introducing AI into that environment involves connecting the technology to those systems while preserving reliability and control.

This helps explain the market Hang Ten is addressing. Access to an AI model is one component of a project; understanding the customer’s information, permissions and operating requirements is another.

The commercial opportunity lies in bringing those pieces together into software that people can use in their daily work.

Hobie: The Platform Supporting Its Services

Hang Ten’s website identifies Hobie as its agentic AI platform.

The company describes capabilities for connecting to existing systems, organising business definitions, supporting conversational queries and tracing answers to their underlying data. Its published architecture also includes access controls and an audit layer.

In simpler terms, a business question needs more than a fluent answer. A finance team, for example, may need to understand which records were used and whether the person asking is permitted to access them.

Hang Ten presents Hobie as part of its approach to addressing those requirements. The published description explains the intended design; it does not establish independently verified accuracy or suitability for every customer environment.

Human Review Remains Part of Delivery

The company’s engineering material describes AI agents assisting with requirements, coding, testing and review.

Chief technology officer Navin Budhiraja has outlined a process in which verification is separated from code generation. The company also says that people remain responsible for accepting planned work, approving design decisions during review and signing off on security.

That distinction is central to the business proposition. Generating software quickly has value when the resulting system meets the customer’s requirements and can be operated dependably.

Hang Ten’s approach assigns AI more of the production and checking work while retaining named human responsibility at specified decision points.

Customers Named in the Announcements

The June launch release identified Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Fresenius among the enterprises working with Hang Ten.

In September, the company said it had signed several multimillion-dollar engagements and had completed some projects while others remained under delivery. The announcement also described work with Aramco across several functions.

These are company-reported customer relationships and commercial milestones. The releases do not provide a full revenue breakdown or independently audited measures of customer savings.

Named engagements give the venture an early commercial foundation. Longer-term performance will depend on successful delivery and customers choosing to expand or renew their work with the company.

Vishal Sikka’s Background in Enterprise Technology

Sikka served as Infosys CEO and managing director from 2014 to 2017. Before that, he held senior leadership positions at SAP, including chief technology officer and executive board member responsible for products and technology.

His background also includes a PhD in computer science from Stanford University and research in artificial intelligence and intelligent systems.

Hang Ten follows his earlier venture, Vianai Systems, which launched in 2019 as an enterprise AI platform and products company.

That history gives Sikka experience across software products, technology services and AI businesses. It is relevant to Hang Ten’s effort to combine technical development with the organisational demands of large customers.

How the Company Plans to Use the Funding

Hang Ten says the additional capital will support ongoing customer engagements, expand its engineering and consulting organisation, and fund development of its platform and reusable AI capabilities.

Its careers page lists roles for engineers working directly with customers, solution engineers and specialists in physical systems.

Those listings indicate that human expertise remains part of the delivery model. Engineers are expected to understand business problems, work in customer environments and review the output of AI tools.

The Business Model and the Next Test

Hang Ten’s website describes pricing linked to agreed outcomes. It also promotes substantial improvements in speed and cost, including a “10× value” proposition that can vary by project.

Those are commercial claims that need to be assessed against the scope and results of individual engagements.

The model could be attractive to customers seeking predictable costs and clearly defined deliverables. For the supplier, it places importance on estimating work accurately and maintaining quality as more projects run simultaneously.

With $85 million announced in funding, Hang Ten has resources to expand. Its next test is turning early customer relationships into repeatable delivery, sustained revenue and measurable results for the enterprises it serves.
