Dehradun-Based Sunfox Raises $7 Million to Expand Heart Disease Testing and Improve Cardiac Healthcare
The Series A investment will support wider use of Spandan portable ECG devices, research and development, and expansion into international markets.
Dehradun-based Sunfox Technologies has raised $7 million in Series A funding to expand access to heart testing and strengthen its cardiac diagnostics business.
Announced on 7 October 2026, the latest Sunfox funding round was led by Ashish Kacholia, Lashit Sanghvi, Alchemy Capital and 3one4 Capital. It is the largest investment round raised by the company so far.
Sunfox develops the Spandan range of portable electrocardiogram devices, commonly known as ECG devices. These connect with compatible smartphones and software to record heart activity and support review by healthcare professionals.
The company plans to expand across India while building the capabilities needed to enter more overseas markets.
Sunfox Funding: Key Details
| Detail | Information |
|---|---|
| Company | Sunfox Technologies |
| Location | Dehradun, Uttarakhand |
| Funding amount | $7 million, reported as approximately ₹67 crore |
| Investment round | Series A |

The investment supports a business that combines medical hardware with digital services. Its expansion plans cover both the equipment used to record an ECG and the systems that connect those recordings with doctors.
How Sunfox Plans to Use the Investment
The company has identified domestic expansion, research and development, and international business development as major priorities for the new capital.
In India, Sunfox intends to widen the reach of its cardiac diagnostics platform across different healthcare settings. These include clinics, hospitals, public-health programmes and services that support care closer to patients’ homes.
The investment will also support organisational growth as the company develops its business.
“This round gives us the resources to take what we have built in Dehradun to a much larger stage,” said Rajat Jain, founder and CEO of Sunfox Technologies.
Internationally, the company plans to develop regulatory, distribution and commercial capabilities. That includes the work needed to secure permissions, establish sales channels and support healthcare customers in additional markets.
The Founders Behind Sunfox Technologies
Sunfox was founded in 2016 by Rajat Jain, Arpit Jain, Sabit Rawat, Nitin Chandola and Saurabh Badola.
The venture began as a research and development operation in Uttarakhand. According to the company’s account, the loss of a college friend prompted the founders to explore technology that could improve access to timely cardiac assessment.
Sunfox’s published timeline places the first Spandan prototype in 2017. Over the following years, the company developed additional products and expanded the settings in which its technology could be used.
The new funding builds on that development history, giving the business more resources to extend its reach.
How Spandan Supports Heart Testing
An electrocardiogram, or ECG, records the electrical activity of the heart. Healthcare professionals use this information as part of their assessment of a patient’s heart health.
Spandan combines a dedicated ECG device with a compatible smartphone or tablet. The hardware records the signals, while the connected application helps display, organise and share the results.
Sunfox offers configurations for personal monitoring and professional use. Its range includes portable devices for home settings alongside products designed for clinics, hospitals and mobile healthcare teams.
The company’s professional product information describes digital reports, patient records and automated interpretation in supported configurations. It identifies automated interpretation as preliminary assistance for trained professionals. Clinical decisions remain with authorised healthcare practitioners.
The practical aim is to make ECG recording available in more places and help connect the recording with appropriate medical review.
Spandan One Connects Patients and Healthcare Teams
The company also operates Spandan One, the digital part of its cardiac diagnostics platform.
Sunfox describes a system that brings together a consumer application, a partner application and a central dashboard. These tools support the sharing and review of ECG information across connected users.
The platform’s functions include remote ECG review, coordination of cases and management of tele-ECG networks.
For healthcare organisations, this connection is an important part of the service. Recording an ECG locally becomes more useful when the information can reach a clinician who can interpret it and decide what should happen next.
Bringing ECG Services Closer to Smaller Communities
In public-health programmes, Sunfox’s technology can operate through a network connecting local health centres with larger medical facilities.
A trained nurse or health worker at a primary or community health centre captures the ECG. The recording is then shared with a doctor or cardiologist at a district-level hub for review.
The clinician can assess the information and help identify patients who require referral or further evaluation.
This model aims to extend specialist input to facilities that may not have a cardiologist on site. It could reduce the need for some patients to travel solely to obtain an initial ECG assessment.
Its effectiveness depends on the entire care process: trained operators, usable recordings, timely review and access to follow-up services.
Sunfox Reports Deployment Across More Than 20,000 Villages
As part of the funding announcement, Sunfox shared figures describing the reach of its platform.
| Measure | Company-reported figure |
|---|---|
| Spandan devices deployed across India | Approximately 60,000 |
| Villages reached | More than 20,000 |
| Patients screened annually using Spandan One | Approximately 5 million, or 50 lakh |
These figures, provided by Sunfox, describe the scale of its device deployment and screening activity.
For Sunfox, the next challenge is to support wider use while maintaining the quality of its products and services. A larger installed base requires dependable support for the healthcare teams using the equipment.
Plans for the United States, Europe and Africa
The latest Sunfox funding round will also support the company’s international ambitions.
According to its funding statement, Sunfox has regulatory approvals in India, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. It is pursuing clearances in the United States and European Union.
The US and EU approvals are therefore still being sought. Expansion into those markets remains subject to the relevant regulatory processes.
Alongside this work, Sunfox plans to strengthen its distribution and commercial capabilities. The company will need to connect its products with local healthcare requirements and establish ways to supply and support customers.
Earlier Funding and the Next Stage of Growth
The Series A follows a ₹15 crore pre-Series A investment announced in 2024, led by Venture Catalysts.
Sunfox also gained national visibility after appearing on Shark Tank India’s first season, where it secured backing from all five investors on the panel.
The latest investment provides funding for a broader phase of expansion. Progress will be visible through additional deployments, development of the Spandan platform and advances in overseas regulatory approvals.
For the Dehradun company, the commercial opportunity lies in making portable ECG testing and connected medical review a dependable part of everyday healthcare.
